When the managing director of a professional wedding and event planning company saw a niche in the market for a wedding fair, it was only natural for her to organise it to her usual high standards. So, after securing a venue and deciding upon a date, Jenny Barnes of Make Our Day Events approached Appointments 4U to help with contacting potential exhibitors.

“Obviously, as a wedding planner, I had a lot of contacts who might have been interested in exhibiting,” explains Jenny. “But since I was going to be co-ordinating the entire show, I thought the easiest way of contacting them would be through a direct telesales campaign.
“We needed someone with sales skills to get people excited about the fair. I’d met Julie through the Athena network, so she was one of the first people I thought about. I gave her a database, and she was very successful in drumming up interest, which I then converted into sales.”
